Handmade Irish soap dishes

Beautifully crafted by Richard from Wild Atlantic Wood in his workshop in West Cork

Each soap dish has been crafted from a solid piece of wood, then sanded smooth and finished.

Each piece of wood used has been sourced from fallen trees or from a local timer yard. All sustainable sourced.

These soap dishes are great for storing your body soap or solid shampoo and ideal accompaniment to a zero waste lifestyle.

As you make switches to a sustainable lifestyle there is nothing better than supporting local Irish and handmade craft makers.

Description

The soap dishes feature a lot of cuts on both the top and bottom of each dish.
Each cut is a little deeper than half the thickness of the wood. The cuts crisscross each other, on the top they go the length of the soap dish, and on the bottom, they go across the dish. As a result, lots of small drainage holes are formed to allow the water to drain away

Available in Oak and Cedar wood. The finish is danish oil which helps to seal the wood and add a further level of protection to the dish.

Measurements approx
Height 2 – 2.5cm (1in)
Length 11.5cm (4 5/8in).
Width 7.5cm (3in).

Love my oak soap dish, looks and smells unreal. Only downside is my shaving soap keeps sticking to it so much I have to pry it off with a knife

Hi Ruth, Thanks very much for your comment. Oh no that’s a pity. Maybe dab the soap dry with a towel before returning to the tray after use. Hope this helps.
