DIY: Natural Laundry Detergent

DIY: Natural Laundry Detergent

One of my favourite Zero Waste blogs is definitely “The Wasted Blog” and that’ s where I found this recipe for a laundry detergent. I have already tried to make a slime, but I found the clothes smelly afterwards.

It’ s super simple and you only need 4 ingredients. Also, it’ s so kind to your skin. No horrible chemicals included!

You will need:

  • 100 g of baking soda
  • 100 g of washing soda (soda crystals)
  • 65 g of olive oil soap with lemon extract (our is 200g, so you have it for 3 batches J)
  • few drops of your favorite essential oil (I love lavender for laundry)

The process could not be easier. Simply grate the soap and mix with the remaining ingredients. Use as any other powder detergent (I generally do not put more than 3-4 tablespoons for a load) and a few drops of essential oil.

That’ s it. Let me know how it worked for you.

P.S: You can use the soap as a stain remover too.
